Collect the payment of this life that I live in. You all want such joy to push it on top of me making me suffer more and more into this hole as it continues to pile on top of me. This life that I lead is finished. All I want is death for the pain can be no greater than life in this world.

Chapter One- The Dawning of a New Day

The sun had dawned on a new field of life that awakend the living earth beneath my body as I lied gently there trying to gape open my eyes against that shining sun that had already made the birds pop up in a whistling tune. I sighed slightly finally getting my eyes open against the beaming rays that seemed to aim right into the center of my pupils. Pushed myself up off the dirty ground where I layed, dusted myself off and turned my head down away from the sun letting my long smooth black hair hang low directing the rays somewhere besides my face. Opened my eyes and looked down at my clothing unable to get the dust off, growled slightly at the thought of walking in a dust covered attire and decided quickly to wash off the leather I was wearing. Therefore, I began to journey along a random pass hoping to just pass by by a small stream so I can damp my wash cloth so I can clean off the dust from the black leather clothing I was wearing. Just then a rush of wind chilled the warm air with it's morning breeze but, it wasn't just a morning breeze. It was a colder brush that I had felt ever before. Not by touch but, by what was felt within. It was horrorfying but, it drew me into it's coldness and I began to stalkingly walk toward the direction it was coming from. All I could think was what was happening to me and why was I being drawn into something that had made me fear for my life. Then I passed through a green brush that was blocking the path I was following and when passing through the breeze was more than I could bear. But it kept calling me and calling me into it's will and I couldn't hold back from it's shouting. I was then drawn closer into it's grasp and as it clasp around my frame engulfed me in a total shroud of black smoke. It choked me into a weak submisson. Then, it swallowed me whole into it's airless stomach and I found myself in a whole new world. But, not what I thought it would be at all. It was more of a mystical world filled with magical beasts and worlds of beauty rather than something that torments all. It was like a mystical heaven...These things of beauty just began to move my soul into a frenzy filled with things that were undescribable. Though, there was one thing that still stabbed at my brain with curiousity...Why was I brought into this world of beauty? But, only one thing could be thought and that was there were infinte reasons that I could never make certain why. Therefore, I just forget the entire questioning at mind and began on my way down these stairs that sparkled with each look into the city that lived at the bottom of the mount in the mystic valley beneath a viel of fog. I slowly went down each step getting nearer and nearer to the fog cover and looked at it carefully. But, nothing could be seen but the fog and a light that drew me in more and more down into the Valley. Finally, I slipped pass the fog and underneath I could see clearly the city. It rose high from the depths of the valley. I realized that the fog I passed were only the clouds and as I looked down at the city within the valley my entire mind was thrown into a world of curiosity and bewilderment but, with millions of thought racing each other. I continued my journey down the stairs and suddenly I came to find myself in a traffic line of people who seemed to be lost. They were all walking down in the same speed and rythem but, I moved on and journeyed around them. I had found another path which was more treachorous down but, was faster. I began to gently slide step down the slope toward the city inch by inch carefully as I could trying not to shift my weight to much knowing that if I leaned too far left I'd fall and slide down on my side or, if I leaned too far right I'd began tumbling. So, I tried to keep a balance all the way down, which, I was able to do. Reaching the ground I let out a long deep sigh of relief and then looked up suddenly to hear voices storming after me but, from far distances. I slowly walked my way toward the city and as I came to the out reaches of the gigantic city reaching hundreds of feet to the sky, the name of the city popped out on the a sign. It was called Memphis. As I passed the sign and into the city I became clearer on what was there. There cafes that lined up against the buildings as well as small shops that were hidden within smaller slits between buildings but, were there. There were no houses so, I figured that most of these towering buildings held the citizens of Memphis which were uncommon but, nonetheless, were still there. I heard people talking on the streets and kids laughing and playing. Saw people sitting in the small lots outside of the strange cafes speaking to each other. Poets were on the street corners watching the people as they passed by writing their stories of such people giving them vivid looks making them almost real to the readers mind. There were street artists who painted, played their music, and spoke their poetry for small change just to get by hoping that one day someone big in the world would come by, like their stuff, and offer them a deal. I then began walk down the streets quietly watching the entire city and decided to enter one of the small cafes that was located next to one of the towering apartments. I walked up to the cashier that was there smiling at me, she asked me what I wanted and my reply was merely "A bagle and a mocha late." She quickly rang it up, I paid her money I had and she gave me what I ordered. Then, I laid my items onto the table, sat down on the steel chair and began to study the items that were there amongst the table. Lifted up the bagle and began eating it slowly watching the business around me with confusion. Finishing the bagle quickly, I began drinking the mildly warm Late but, swiftly as well and put the cup back on the table. Sighed silently to myself with few thoughts coming to mind, stood up grabbing my items from the table and throwing them into the trash can beside it. Walked outside of the glowing door and entered the outside again and still couldn't stop gazing at the beauty that laid within. I then searched for a small motel I could say in until I decided to leave or, maybe get a job and live there. I found this comfy little place called the Mystical Misty Valley Motel that was located just outside of the city on the west side. I walked in and was immediately greeted with the comfort I saw from the outside. They gave no hassle for the room and I quickly was able to pay and store away into the room. As I entered the room, my eyes were gazed on the unability of how perfect this place was...How just like my dreams this city was imagined and now was real! I dropped my blade onto the table. Got out of the leather clothing into the undergarments I was wearing and gently fell to the bed and laid there for the rest of the day with no care or, worry and just quickly falling to a new sleep awaiting the next day.

Chapter 2- Awakening the Sun

The next morning I awoke to a shrouded sunlight that barely seemed to shine through the room. It was if the sun was tinted by some kind of weird veil but, I was sure that it wasn't the window. The window was as clear as crystal so, I knew right away it was something else. I gently stepped toward the wooden door and placed my soft hand on the cold doorknob, gave it a slight twist and pulled it open gently. And as the door open the sun became bright as ever. I quickly shut the door hiding my eyes from the bright sun that crept through the crack of the door and fell back to the bed with a soft bounce. I looked at the window with so much bewilderment...It was nothing I had ever seen before. A glass window that was clear as crystal yes was able to shroud the sunlight from shining through all the way. After I gazed much as the window that was in the room I stayed in, I picked up my blade, put back down to my side, put on a pair of sunglasses to hide my eyes from the sun that lived in the sky and walked my self out of the room and into the quiet air.
First thing I did was head back to the owner of the hotel and gave him another payment but, this time for another three nights. I then headed back into the town which was the in the usual bewilderment that it was when I first stepped into the city. Children were playing along the side walks as their parents mingled with each other in love behind the kids kissing and hugging each other enjoying their lives like a normal family would. But, it was very odd for me to even begin to fathom. Once again this tall city of Memphis showed me another sign that this is nothing like the world I lived in. It was nowhere near the cynical life that I lived in the small village of Koplikan. Nothing could ever be so perfect, so loving, so innocent. All I could think about through the entire morning was that simple fact that this place I was in was a world of simple perfection. As the clock struck the noon hour I decided to have myself a small lunch so, I headed into this little cafe called The Golden Kangaroo. The named seemed more like the name of some kind of bar where old men came to drink their problems away but, I still went on with they lunch. I rested at a nice comfy corner table eating a sandwich which contained three slices of chicken, mustard, and cheese with a pickle on the side as well as chips. It was more like The Golden Deli instead. I spent some time sitting in the corner of the deli and just rested there for about one hour meditating on the thoughts rushing through the blood of my already agitated brain. Finally, I decided to get up and take a stroll through the streets of the city of Memphis. Still, once again, the height and the beauty of the city through my mind into a total bewilderment. And the people never seemed to notice me. My appearence of black leather and the weapons I carried around freely for my own protection. No one seemed to have a care except, for their lives and their children's lives if they had one. Though, I do think it was right to live their lives the way they want and that was so great. It was as if I was dreaming a dream about the perfect place I would want to live in.
I continued on through the day with really nothing to bother me except the thoughts about Memphis. It was just a complete and utter dream to me. I had no clue what was going to happen nor did I care. I just wanted to be around this place for as long as I could afford the hotel room. I walked down the street quietly back to the hotel I was staying in, went into my room and locked the door, fell to the bed, and kept quiet the entire rest of the day that laid around the city. I went into more meditation sequences putting all my thoughts together as well as all the things that seemed to bother my mind. Then, I quietly laid myself down to sleep and disappeared into the world of dreams for the rest of that night.

Chapter 3: The New Friend of the Night

I woke up quite early in the morning in the room I had quietly slept in through the entire night. The only thing I was capable of doing then was stare straight at the darkness of the ceiling in a thinking wonderment with things popping in and out of the brain muscle. It didn't really scare me in the entire whole of what was happening but, it did seem to hide something that was there and I had no clue what it was. Suddenly, I sat up with a sudden urge of forgetfulness and then began to stare at the wall blankly into shrouded light. I launched my feet off of the bed, off the side until my feet slammed into the carpet floor, and then silently stood up looking blankly still out of the mystified window. Reached toward the door knob, opened it up, and steped instantly out onto the concrete path in front of the room door, opened my eyes wide to the bright light letting my eyes get adjusted and then went back to the path toward inner Memphis.
My form slowly strolled into the city looking around the population quietly thinking to myself in a world to myself yet, knowing that I wasn't hungry at all which is strange because I usually am when I wake up. I then found myself silently pushing myself into a crowd of people making the streets throb with busy people. Suddenly but, quietly I heard a voice whisper into my ear with a soft tone of voice that pulled me right into it's source. It was a young man around the age of 17 standing next to me beckoning me to him to a little cafe that was just to the left of me. He pulled me through it's glass doors and silently found us a place to sit. This was the first time someone had actually saw me and had enough courage to talk to me. The waiter seemed to glide over quickly to take our order. The boy ordered a cup of coffee and a small salad with a dressing named Toykota. Then the waiter quickly turned to me and as his eyes were placed directly on me I shooked my head and sorta waved him away meaning to tell him I wished to have nothing to eat or drink. "Hello, my name is Rider. And your's?", he quietly commented and and questioned. And in the same tone of voice I answered back in politeness, "My name is Temple. It's great to meet you. I've seemed to notice that alot of people have not even looked at me so. I want to know why you are so drawned to take me into this place and introduce yourself". "Well, you just seemed to pop out to me. See, I'm new here and the way you look I just kind of singled you out sense you seemed to be new here as well. I just wondered if you would be able to lend me your hospitality and stay with you for a few days while I get straighten out and know why I'm here." Instantly, I went straight into my own little thought world thinking the exact same thing..."Why was I in this place." I looked at him with a warm smile and nodded slightly allowing him to stay with me in my room for the time he was here. After he finished eating we headed out the door and down the side of the streets talking to each other just like we had always been friends.
"So", he said to me as we finally exited out of the crowded sidewalks, "Where are we headed?" I looked up at him, lifted my hand effortlessly and pointed at the inn at the end of the city. He nodded quickly and we walked to the inn silent the rest of the way exiting from the city limits into the Mystic Memphis River Inn. We walked onto the concrete path to the room I was staying in, I unlocked the door as I do so many times, and we both entered into the peaceful place I called home. He quickly jumped onto the bed next to the one I slept in and instantly feel into a roaring slumber. I looked at him laughingly at the site, shaked my head and set down on the side of my bed. Slid off my shoes, unhooked my weapons and laid them under the bed, checked all my books, papers, and pens were in the cabinet and rolled up onto the bed and stared straight at the blank ceiling and then fast asleep I went with a new friend to keep me entertained but, curious.

Chapter 4: The Awakening of Noise

A loud crash slammed inside the room that my friend and I were in now. And as the sound continued to roar through my ear canal I growled in a startling instant, widen my eyes and flipped straight up looking around but, oddly it was still night time so I couldn't really see a thing within the walls of the confounds we were in. I looked over to my RIder's bed quickly to see if he was up making the racket or a theif that some how slipped in quietly but couldn't see what he was doing. Quickly enough the first guess was right. Rider was up. I swiftly turned on the lights and stared straight at the part of the room Rider had gone through. It was totally broken into millions of pieces. Glass from a nearby lamp had smash over onto the cold hard floor, the desk which the lamp was on had been flipped over onto it's side, and over all his entire bed looked like a tornado had ripped through. I sighed deeply and shooked my head with a bit of pity still trying to hold my anger down. I watched until he came back from the bathroom. When he walked out and turned he saw me in a instant and smiled with a quiltful smirk to me, flipped the desk back uprigth and slipped into his bed...He then reached over and turned off the lights and I pushed back into my slumber from the noise that destroyed the sleep I had already had the privlege to win.

MORNING Finally, morning has risen again from it's daily grave to slip through the cracks of the curtains and enter through my pale eyelids to awaken the slumber. Instantly as my eyes opened to the new sun a yawn slipped through my lips and a small stretch pulled through my entire body. I turn over looking toward Rider and he was already sitting up on his bed in a indian style position looking straight at the wall. When he heard the ruffles of my bed move he turned his head very smoothly toward me with a welcoming smile and bid me good morning. I nodded back toward him with the same bidding, pushed myself up to a sitting position and threw my covers foward off of me so that they were hanging onto the foot of the bed. I turned toward the window but quickly pushing my head down toward my shoes, pulled up both shoes and lad them on the bed, and put them on one at a time but as fast as I could. Then, I stood up and walked to the smalled table in front of my bed and put on my weapons belt but, I left off the blade because I no longer needed it to carry through Memphis. I brushed my hair with my hand a bit making it flat. I then sat on the end of the bed and waited until Rider was ready to do more exploring. He noted my appearence and pushed a few words through his lips, "Well, don't we look good this morning. I think you should take your blade with you. Enough exlporing the city...We need to check out of this place, go to a supplies store, and head off toward the woods that are just East of this inn." And then, at that very moment, it did stun me that we do need to push on...So I nodded to him, waved him on, opened the door, and we head into town for the supplies that we needed.
We enter this supplies store with a simple name...Memphis Supplies Store...Walked in with a slow smoothness and waved good morning to the store owner. I looked over to Rider and said to him, "Ok, we split up...you get the food and I'll get the rest. I'm sure you're good with the food?", he looked at me with a questioned faced and replied, "Yes...I know...don't patronize me" and then he walked off toward the food section in a weird fashion of walking. I shooked my head and chuckled and headed to the other side. I reached to the shelves for two backbags, two satchels, and two new weapon belts. Turn instantly to around and began to pule things into the bags. But, I will only put an account on some of the things. One of the things I placed in was this dagger what had a blue crystal hilt that instantly shined if any light touched it. Another was just a mere book on the woods and the stories that it holds within. A few tin cups, a pan, two plates, a few books as well to get rid of boredom if possible, some matches and some other things for a fire, and a few sleeping bags I had to rap around my legs to get them to the front. I placed them all onto the counter and waited for him to get what he wished to bring. I turned fully around to him and his appearenced framed quickly toward me...He was carrying two bags full of food. I was just stunned but, I knew we needed it all. He placed it among my stuff and we had to wait about 30 minutes before it was all registered. The total came out to 500 Peons. Luckly I did bring my money with me on the journey I was on before. I was now down to about 10 Peons and I told him that we were low on money so we would have to find other people for this journey to help out with the other things that we needed. But, then we forgot to buy a map...so there went the 10 Peons I had left...Now I was sure that we needed to find more people for this journey but, it would be awhile. We packed the bags with the stuff in it and went out the door. We exited the Memphis Limits, and as we walked on I turned and waved to it goodbye as we exited into the woods for a new journey with my friend, Rider.

Chapter 5: Afternoon in the Woods

Now we were in the middle of the woods on this new journey we had began together just a few hours ago from Memphis. I did notice I was fatigued a bit thanks to the extra luggage we had to carry to make sure we could survive. Rider was more the type to love these journeys which he constantly took and seemed to be joyful of my companionships that I gave him on this one. I, on the other hand, was merely grateful that I could finally get away from that addicting city. So far we had journeyed about 5 miles since we left Memphis with nothing in site just yet in this wooden area we were in. We decided to take a small break near this little creek due to the scorching heat that had decided to pound into the world we were in and turn us even more fatigued. I decided to lose some of the clothing I had on so I was able to get rid of some of the heat that soaked into my skin. Quickly I pulled off the leather shirt I was wearing, rolled it up, tied it with some string, and threw it near my things. Then I traded my leather pants I had on for some baggy pants that made me look more like some forest ninja. Now all I was wearing was a white tanktop, blue baggy pants, a pair of shoes, and my weapon belt. Then, I decided to put around my body a sword strap and put my sword in that so it no longer made a clanging sound against my leg. I looked quite odd but, it was what I needed too cool down from the heat. Though, it was soon to be Fall and I had heard it got quite cold durning the last two seasons so I saved my leather clothing for later. I then found myself sitting down on the banks of the creek staring into the muddy water and just meditating on pass time things. Rider stood beside me looking into the green forest. He looked down at me and silently said, "Temple, I believe we should be on our way. We need to fine a place to rest for the night and it is beginning to turn into evening so, we don't have much time." I looked up to him and nodded in a instant, stood up, gathered all my things, three each bag on one shoulder and he did the same...then we began to walk onto the trail once again. I noted several things to memory on the way as well. Studying the forest that belonged to this valley. It seemed to be just a normal forest with some differences. There wasn't as much animals around at this time which was quite strange to my knowledge of forests in whole. And there wasn't really any place to find clean water. So, we had to suffer with the water we still had and make that last till we got to our resting place. For the first few hours we never did talk but, after he spoke the first words at the creek he couldn't shut up. He began to tell stories about some of the woods he went through and his adventures, even the entire thing about Memphis. He constantly told me his ideas of what he thought could be real and he told me about his ways with girls. And at that point I knew he had there in that skull of his a intellect but, he did evolve himself around sex quite alot.
Finally, evening had come into the woods and shrouded the entire area into a vast world of sparkling and wild fantasies that could only dreamed of by those who had the ability to feel such emotions about nature. It was almost as if Heaven had come down upon us and we were sucked into it's beauty that glistened through the dusk air. I looked up and the entire sky seemed to be lit into a flaming beauty as the sky took different colors and the clouds took colorful shapes. All I did was notice just heavenly things as we walked down the dusty trail. He suddenly called out "THERE! There is a small village! We should see if we can stay there for the night". he said excitedly. I nodded once again but, I was hardly paying attention. All I was doing was looking through the reflections of paradise around the place we were in. It almost filled my eyes with tears of joy to finally see what it is really like to feel the emotions that nature can bring a single person just with the simpleness it brings to their eyes and renews the life within their now burning soul with a brand new youth and hope.
But, just as this thought was going through we enter the small village of Hilika where we planned to stay. We enter this little inn which was a wooden two-story building that gave the village a quaint little feeling that kind of seemed to make it even better than it seemed. Rider walked up to the inn owner and rented a room. We walked upstairs, opened our room and entered and I instantly dropped my things down next to the bed of my choosing. He laughed a bit and closed the door with a silently click, locked it, walked over to his bed and dropped his stuff as well. I quickly turned on the lights and studied the room. It wasn't big but, it was good enough. Rider suddenly dozed off. I shook my head, turned off the lights, fell back to my bed and silently dreamt away with a new realization.

Chapter 6: Clouded Judgment

It was borning and we awoke in our beds within the old inn in a rush of stretching and yawning. We wiped the sleep from our eyes and instantly went for our belongings. We walked out of the room and swiftly stepped down the stairs of the inn and right by the door was the owner. He told us that a thick fog had moved in through and will be lingering through the morning hours for quite some time. He suggested that we should wait till the afternoon to go on with our journey but, we decided that we must get on now before it gets too hot that we'll have to stay there again. We found that if we got through the morning and as it got hotter our bodies were used to the heat and we could go on. If we waited till then we knew that we'd quickly be drowned by the heat so we said no thanks and just pushed through the door and out into the fool walking toward the direction we were heading in before. Instantly we saw that this fog was very thick within the forest and we knew that our judgment was totally wrong and we got lost in the clouds. We held onto each other trying not to lose each other through the fog as we passed by slight images of the forest. We listend to the animals within the woods and pay attention to everything else trying not to have some thief that might be hiding within the brush come out of nowhere and steal a lose item. Our eyes quickly moved up and we saw the shape of the sun which was tinted from our view but still gave a slight shine. Pushing through we finally got through the humid fog and we let go of each other and just sighed a relief of gratitude to nature and began to move on. As usual on the journey there was no speaking at all. We knew what we had to do and we didn't want to lose our focus on the point where we were going. We had to keep our focus on everything so talking would make too much noise and could attract other things or other people. Suddenly out of nowhere a fear was granted. Came rushing from the side was a thief. He was shrouded in white clothing hoping not to catch the attention of our eyes and blasted right pass. Instantly, my hand went up to my blade, slashing it out and pointed straight toward the thief coming toward us. He swiftly stopped in his tracks with his eyes wide and shuffled back a bit trying to avoid us. "So..." I said with a calm anger, "You wish to steal from us I see? Well, you have to be alot quicker than that to steal from me boy." He looked at me wildly and pulled down the shroud that was hiding his face. He had a bright yellow hair the hung down beside his face and a slight scar that laid upon his right cheek. His eyes were a cold blue that could pierce through even the bravest men. His lips were a pale pink and his skin a slightly tanned color. He looked straight into my eyes with a slight smile and opened those pale pink lips to say a few words, "Sir, I am truly sorry what troubles I may have caused you. As you know people do have to make a living and they will do it either way. And by the look of you, I judge you to be a silent thief that does steal at night when he is most comfortable and knows what he is doing constantly. I even bet your mind is racing with millions of thoughts each and every moment. Now, I realized that I was wrong to try my luck with you but, I ask of you if I may join your journey...I believe I could be of some assistance for you since you are a night thief, he apparently is just a calm, collected person who only wants to get to one place without getting in trouble, and I am a day thief. Therefore we would all be a good team within your odyssey. But, if you do accept, I must ask you to let me bring my son."
I looked at him quietly letting the thoughts run through my mind to see if this was either a trick or a truth but, I knew if I did accept we would be able to get alot more. "Ok...We accept...You and your son can come along. As long as your son will not get in the way. My name is Temple. His name is Rider. But, do not think he doesn't talk...I am not his voice...But, I do make the decisions most of the time. So..welcome to group.
He screamed for his son. His son was about the same height but, he was dressed in total darkness as I am. He had black long hair with the same piercing blue eyes his father had. I quickly held out my hand to welcome them as they came foward. He grabbed hold of my hand with his warm pale touch and announced himself," My name is Keon. I am a former writer for this area but the exiled me for being against them. My son's name is Damien. We appreciated your welcome. So...shall we move on?"
"If you have your stuff ready," Rider said quickly. "Then yes...we are ready to move on Keon and Damien..." They answered back in the same calm voice Keon had when he asked for the joining, "We have our stuff..We are ready." And from then we moved on from that spot on the trail and contined on the journey we had already started. I quickly announced that there will be no more sleeping within the villages. That we will be camping outside in a hidden area since Keon and his son could not be seen within these places or all of us would be thrown away forever. They all took note and nodded gently knowing that this was the only possible way to sleep at night.
We had gone about another fifty miles and the sun was quickly going down beyond the tall trees that engulfed us all around. We quickly stopped and found camp by clear, quiet creek that sang Rider instantly into sleep. Damien was next to fall asleep. And as the sun continued to pass down beyond the trees I could see through the opening cracks a slight view of the sunsets. Keon walked next to me and instantly sat down looking at the same view. He put his hand on my shoulder but, still kept his eyes toward the opening and opened his lips and quietly said, "It's a beautiful thing uh, Temple? Just the world around us and how it's beauty and sounds can hypnotize anyone to it's wants. I noticed that just now as Rider went to bed. All he did we hear the sound of the creek and he fell asleep. It is a peaceful music for all human kind. We all should take heed of what nature says to us. I truly thing nature can lead anyone to where ever they want if they just take the time to listen to it." I nodded gently with a slight smile to Keon's comment. He chuckled a bit and bid me goodnight as he laid down next to his son and fell into his sleep. And then all I could do was lay down next to the creek and listen to it's tune as it whispered me to my slumber.
